Not a comment upon the female of the species, per se, but boy, when one falls foul, one falls a bloody long way. The artist maybe known to some but the question for this evening is: with whom did he have a brilliant partnership? Moving on...
...The Daughter of Delight has rarely had a cross word with me since she left the cot: maybe because she did not live with me? I admit her Mother's complaint that it was because I did not do so. ('so I did not do'?) I'd buggered off, basically.
Peradventure I have this yet to come as she takes residence in the US of I. I know I'd be pretty moody having to cope with that sort of room-mate on a constant basis. I am looking at that sentence from an English perspective, by the way.
The previous brief blurt mentioned I would be back for more: the 'First Time..' is a lovely song, in real life the first flushes of enthusiasm are soon dampened. Probably the same for the distaff? Wouldn't know...never stayed, or was accepted, long enough to ask. Anyway, Roberta's voice on that tune sends shivers.
As does the title tune, although for different reasons. Another Northern classic, as one of my all-times, 'The Snake', but its sentiment changes due to the fact that the troubadour expresses undying passion. Not sure that this works in the real world. Well, not for me, anyway.
Having had to deal with the subject matter with regard to Sons Number One and Number Two, I am pretty sure that I live in the real world and everyone else is in Cloud Cuckoo Land. By the way, I know a bit about the 'cloud'' if anyone wants any help. Cheapest rates in town, guv.
Briefly to the money-shot: Jerry Butler sang the song, Curtis Mayfield was his erstwhile partner. Trust I make a good Impression of you all? You have to laugh, as Tommy Cooper used to say.
