I may have mentioned this tune before...my favourite Northern without question. I paid 25 sheets for it in 1978 and whacked it out for a decent sum. Pity I did not keep my vinyl because I have now come into contact with a record player, and the sound is so much better than CDs or digital media. I remember the greeboes at school used to waffle on about Linn Sondeks but they have proven to be correct. Although Supertramp will never be any good listening via any media. Nor will Simply Boring. Beethoven does the job, as do Cream and Lez Zep.
And my remaining Northern stompers. Al Wilson's 'The Snake' sounds amazing...one I kept because it is not valuable but just bloody brilliant.
On another footing, the offspring have visited their old man for a few days. The Daughter of Delight has a superb attitude to proper music and I introduced Numbers One and Two to John Bonham and Ginger Baker rather than beat-boxing through their adolescent mouths. Credit to them, they were impressed. Then we watched a movie involving Will Ferrell...sigh.
And then they returned to their respective homes and I am left like Jay D Martin.
Funny thing is that I was watching the car keys in front of a fourteen year-old nightmare and yet at fifteen I was travelling to the Casino and staying up all night. Double standards, methinks.
Although the DoD drives like Jacques Villeneuve and I am sure I was never that good, even before the piglets burned my house down. Love 'em all. The children, not the law-enforcement chimps.
Short but sweet tonight.
